We were going to wear these t-shirts today, but unfortunately, they didn't arrive on time.

Everyone knows how much we love our Mom. Without her, there would have been no George's after our father passed. Her tireless dedication and love is why she is in everyone's hearts. I enjoy hearing customers tell me how much she meant to them and that they miss her. Mom is still recovering from her fall, but wants to come in and see everyone. Hopefully, she will be there on Fridays, enjoying her lunch and looking forward to seeing everyone. Thank you always for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.

April 19th is always a tough day for us. Our father passed away 32 years ago today. Still think about him every day.

Whenever anyone asks, I credit him for creating how we make all the food. I could never be as good as he was, but that doesn't mean we don't try to live up to his standard. "I don't make cheap food; I make great food." He never cut corners, and we still practice: if he wouldn't eat it, he wouldn't serve it.

Good Morning, Family and Friends

Happy 51st Anniversary to us.

To the best of my knowledge, my dad's birthday was Feb 12th, which would make sense that he would open the restaurant on his own birthday.

I am not planning an event for this year. I am just expressing my gratitude and love for everyone who has supported us over the years. The daily "How is mom doing?" touches me deeply that everyone remembers and cares to ask for her. She is physically well. She has been able to visit on Fridays for lunch between 11:30 and 12:00.

I can't believe a year has already passed, but as you get older, time does seem to fly. It won't be long before my own daughters will be taking the window and helping. I already know it will not be voluntarily. It wasn't for my brother and me, but it was part of growing up that shaped us.

Thank you again for all the support! I'm looking forward to many more years. I will try to remember a few stories to post during the week. I usually love telling Harvey stories, where my Dad would shake his head, and Harvey would say, "Sorry, Chief." 😄

Good Morning, Family and Friends

I am sure you have all heard about the chicken flu and the soaring price of eggs. I have held back on raising prices, but if it doesn't correct itself soon, I will have to raise them.

Before COVID-19, a box of 200 jumbo eggs was $25 a box. The price went to $100 during COVID-19 and dropped back to around $50. My last four shipments were $140, $148, $150, and now $154. That's my cost. It's frustrating that this flu happens every year now.

The alternative would be to use smaller eggs, but that isn't what people are used to from us. So, I am working on finding another source of Jumbo eggs. I called Voortman's in Chino but never got a return call, so that will be my next task.

Please believe me, I am trying my best to maintain the quality of the food just like my parents did.

Good Evening, Family and Friends,

As we step into the new year, we want to share some updates and changes happening at George's.

First, some of you may have already noticed that our cups have changed. This was not a decision we made lightly. The State of California has banned polystyrene foam, commonly known as Styrofoam, so we are working closely with our vendors to find containers that meet or exceed the quality of our previous ones. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this transition.

Second, we’re excited to announce that we’re implementing a new Point of Sale (POS) system! While we originally planned to use Toast, our experience with their support and reliability was disappointing. After careful consideration, we’ve chosen SkyTab, with a planned go-live date of January 2nd.

One of the most exciting features of the new system is the introduction of Online Ordering! However, this feature won’t launch on January 2nd. We want to ensure the new system is running smoothly before activating it. Once online ordering goes live, we’ll monitor its performance and may eventually encourage phone orders to transition to the online platform for a more streamlined experience.

Good Morning, Family and Friends

I hope everyone is well and managing through this hot summer. I am excited to be heading to Greece tomorrow to pick up Mom. I have been giving her all your warm wishes and prayers, and she wants to come home yesterday. She has recovered well from her broken hip, but she is still retired. I will try to bring her down to the store on Fridays to say hi to everyone.

While I am gone next week, I gave the staff the option of closing Monday to Thursday to get a mini vacation. The morning staff wants to stay open, while the night staff jumped at the chance. This means that next week (8/19) to (8/22), we will be closing at 5pm. Thank you for understanding.

Lastly, I am working on our Halloween shirt and should be posting what I have done so far.
