Kalo Mhna! Wishing everyone a wonderful first of the month filled with happiness, health and prosperity.

March 5th, I took my girls to Disneyland After Dark. My daughter's birthday was the 13th so it was an early gift. I was bombarded by calls about someone telling my employees they were buying my restaurant. I told them it's news to me so just get a number and tell him to stop calling. I called the next day and asked what's so important that you interrupted my time off? He said, "I want to buy your business." I said it's not for sale. He came back of course it is. I said so you have an offer to make me move. What is the value of a 50-year business that has been part of this community worth then? He said no you tell me. I said 2 million. He got excited that includes the land, right? I said, "No that would be 5 million." He said he only had 2.5 million, I told him then you don't have enough.

I haven't spoken much since the 50th celebration because I have been regrouping and working toward my goals. I try to speak into existence my goals for the store and moving forward. My goal this year is to open another George's. I have been told why bother but if you know me then you know I am always trying to prove myself. I inherited my parent's restaurant, because of my mom deserved to retire and try to enjoy her life without having to work so hard. The location will be local, but my choice would be a neighboring city. I bring up the first part because I have been looking and 2.5 million will buy the land and a business that in less than desirable locations, but my goal isn't to sell off anytime soon.

I want to thank everyone that comes and supports us daily.

Yesterday was amazing, and it was everything I hoped it would be. I told everyone yesterday that it wasn't about anything but giving my mom her day. After 50 years, she deserved it, and everyone came by and made her feel special. It means more to me than anyone will ever know.

Thank you, Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson, for coming to celebrate with us. I appreciate your kind words and humbleness in taking pictures without hesitation with all of us.

Thank you to Senator Richard Roth's office.

Thank you to Supervisor Kevin Jeffries's office.

Thank you, Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes.

Thank you to the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce; your organization went beyond and helped create this wonderful day. I hope to be able to repay your generosity.

Thank you to all our vendors who came out to wish my mom a blessed day and congratulate her on the 50 years. Puritan Bakery, Gaylord's Meat Co, Scotty Waitman, FSM Foodservice, Pantelides, El Greco, Cal Dairyland and Pepsi.

Thank you to our Father John from Prophet Elias, who did the prayer to bless us on this day. My mom's faith is a big reason she could continue for all these years.

Thank you to all my family who showed up to support us.

Thank you to all my friends who came out to show us love.

Thank you to my wife, who did everything to help me yesterday so that I didn't have to.

Thank you to the car clubs who generously gave their time to share their wonderful cars with us.

Thank you to our DJ, Rob Vasquez. The music was on point.

And most importantly, to everyone who showed up to celebrate with us. You are the reason we have lasted 50 years. You have shared your family with us to become our extended family. I love the generations who come and share that my mom served them as young adults and now bring their children and grandchildren. These are the memories that warm my mother's heart.

To everyone else who couldn't make it, I know you were with us in spirit. Thank you for the kind messages.

My heart is full today because of all the love I felt yesterday. Thank you again.

mayorlockdawson George’s Drive-In celebrates 50 years! It was great celebrating with the Alexiou Family who have put so much love into their restaurant. Established in 1974, their dedication to treating their customers like family has made them a staple in the community.
Thank you for choosing Riverside and continuing your commitment to the community. Their now red sign remains an iconic symbol in Riverside!

We are excited about tomorrow and looking forward to seeing everyone. Parking might be hard tomorrow, so we asked the Doi's and they allowed us to use their parking across the street. Please be respectful of their business when using the spaces. Also, if needed, there should be spaces across the street in the Lowe's shopping center.

The tentative car clubs for tomorrow are @RiversideCars&Coffee from 11 to 12:59, @RickshawsRiverside from 1:00 to 2:59, and a small group from 3:00 to 4:59. Please respect their allocated spaces. If you have a classic car you would like to bring, please message me for the time between 10 and 10:59 in the allocated spaces. We have 13 spaces.

Thank you again, everyone. The attention has been overwhelming, to say the least. My goal is to give my mom the day she deserves for her 50+ years of service to the community.

I had the privilege of speaking in front of the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce last Thursday to tell them about the planned celebration on Feb 24th. It was hard to hold my emotions in when talking about my parents, but I wanted to share a copy of what I wrote to share.

Good morning, Family and Friends,

I have been swamped, but I wanted to update a few things. The 50th will be February 24, 2024. I was reminded the 17th would have been President's weekend, and people would be out of town. Not sure about the times yet.

To all ex-George's employees, please try to make it down so we can all take a group photo with my mom. I have not spoken much about this, but Mom is now retired. A side effect of breaking her hip was the pain meds used to treat her, which have caused her to have early signs of Alzheimer's. She is physically healthy and doing well otherwise. If anyone who reads this knows past employees, please mention this to them.

Thank you again for years of patronage and support. It helped my mom after my father passed. She loved (and still loves) talking to everyone and hearing their stories.
